TESTIMONIALS

Dear All in All,

Your show here in Vernon last september was easily the best thing to happen here in a long time. Me and my friends bought front row center tickets because we knew it'd be one of the greatest experiences of our lives. You probably wouldn't remember us but we stayed after your show and got each of your band member's signatures on our All in All poster. Robb even gave us his drumstick that he used for the show.

Now we beg of you, please come back to Vernon. We know you guys are coming to Kelowna to which we'll probably end up going too but coming to Vernon would just be icing on the cake. We'll get on our hands and knee's and beg for it, please come back to the Performing Arts Center. We beg of it.

What an awesome show!!!

Wasn't sure what to expect with a tribute band that has only been together for a year but my concerns have been totally wiped out. I would close my eyes and I could swear it was really Pink Floyd performing on stage, especially on Dark side of the moon and shine on you crazy diamond.

I am definitely there next time you come to town. And a special thanks to Mishka who took genuine interest in what I had to say. It was a real pleasure talking to you. Again thanks for a great show!

Kelly, Vernon BC

Hello,

My name is Kristen and I loved your show. I had come out from Calgary to visit family in Kelowna with my 3 month old (who's teehing and making somewhat of a debut). I decided a couple more sleepless nights on my parents couch would be worth it to be able to say I went to a concert and listened to the music of Pink Floyd. The audience were thrilled to hear how much you sound like the real deal. You definitely did Pink Floyd justice.

My only regret was my husband (who turned me on to Pink Floyd when I was 18) was back to work in Calgary. Which brings me to my request. Please, please, please come to Calgary so I can take him to hear you. Thank you for taking to time to read my e-mail and I wish you fun and success with future endevours.

Sincerly, Kristen, Calgary AB

Just got back from seeing, "All in All It's Just", here in Victoria BC.

Brilliant job, I had a great time.

The show is just fantastic, that is really what I think ..... oh by the way ...... "All in All It's Just" found the Floyd groove and was in the Floyd zone. That's all that is important. I enjoyed the show immensely, it was great. My son and I and everyone else from what I could see loved every minute. A great selection on the set list and some of my personal favorites, including "On The Turning Away", which always moves me. And their bass player did it very well. Also they did Set The Controls, which I had never heard live, and Arnold Layne too! But their selection covered all Floyd eras and was very well balanced with all the Pink Floyd classic favorites.

Victoria, BC, Canada is notorious for having extremely conservative and uninvolved audiences and musicians around here know that playing to a Victoria BC crowd can be a really tough gig, as you seldom get any audience feedback. The audience last night had a great time. They were noisy, they sang along, they cheered and shouted compliments and the list goes on. They got a standing "O" at the end of the first act. So the show was a huge hit, and they had about 700 in a 800 seat theater. There were some personal high spots, including the Great Gig In The Sky singers, and they all performed brilliantly. This is often the litmus test for Floyd tribute shows, because if you win over the crowd with this one, the crowd is yours. These three gals knocked this number right out of the park!

"All in All It's Just" a show worth seeing.

Bob, Victoria BC

Hello

We just want to thank you for your incredible performance on this Saturday in Victoria. My husband saw Pink Floyd once in Seattle and once in Vancouver in early seventies and was a bit sceptical going in to the concert as to how good can any one else be... His reaction was wonderful to watch as you geared up into the second song. All we could think of was sadness for anyone not sitting with us in the theatre, experiencing your incredible sound and musicianship. We especially liked the visual clips and lights. Well done!

Thanks to you all for a wonderful evening. Please let us know when you will be back to Victoria, and glad you are islanders too. Lucky us all,

Anne and Graham, Victoria BC

Hi guys,

I was at the show on Sat and thought it was great. You did a great job in all areas. I am a serious Floyd fan and had reservations about going but I'm glad I did.

How serious? Every Sunday morning I am in charge of brunch and without exception Floyd goes on to accompany my efforts. My kids have grown up with this ritual and my 7 yr old's favourite band is you guessed it (he was choked he couldn't come along although his 18 yr old brother did). An interesting long term result of the Sunday Floyd session is that it is pretty likely that later in life, when they hear Pink Floyd they will be hungry for waffles or when they smell waffles they will have the urge to hear Dark Side of the Moon. As it is, if Floyd is on any other time they come in looking for food so it seems to be working in a Pavlovian way. My sick contribution to their lives.

Cheers and best of luck in the future.

Jeff, Victoria BC

We saw the show in Victoria..... WOW... You must know how much the audience enjoyed it, and you must have left the stage feeling pretty good. Well, you deserve it !!!!

You guys are fantastic.... When, where is the Courtnay show ? ..... we'll try to get to it....

OUR VERY FIRST REVIEW

Campbell River MirrorFRIDAY, JUNE 2, 2006.
Recreating the Pink Floyd machine.

Tamas Virag
Mirror Staff

Chances are, none of us will ever see Pink Floyd play live again.
Those of us who have been lucky enough to see them sometime during the last four decades will probably remember the experience for the rest of our lives and wish we could go again.
Those who have never seen them wish they had the chance.
A new tribute band, All In All, It's Just, is here to fulfill that wish, or at least come as close as possible. They will he kicking off their four-stop Vancouver Island mini tour in Campbell River at the Tidemark Theatre on June 16, 2006.
I went to check them out at one of their rehearsals this week.
The first strains of One of There Days were filtering through the doors of the rural community hail where the band was practicing.
That unforgettable bass line still makes my spine tingle, even after having heard it countless times.
My first thought was "Wow, these guys sound just like the real deal."
As I walked into the hall, the bright sunshine outside was contrasted by the complete darkness inside; the large room was filled only with sound.
Then, as the song progressed, images started appearing on the screen behind the band, and the otherwordly light Pink Floyd is famous for sliced and danced across the darkness.
My second thought was "Wow, these guys look just like the real deal."
There is more to the All In All It's Just experience than a band that simply plays pre-written songs.
"Trying to get the guitar to sound like 1967 was probably the biggest challenge," said Dan Hawes, who has three amplifiers for his guitar, each tuned for a period-correct sound.
The triple-amp set-up ensures that the guitar on 1967's Astronomy Domine will sound different from 1979's Comfortably Numb.
Furthering the authentic experience are sound effects sampled from the albums.
Afterall, Time just wouldn't be the same without the symphony of clocks in the first few seconds.
The band, comprised of eight musicians, including the requisite female back-up singers, plus two sound and light technicians, put on a show that only the most devoted of Floyd fans will he able to differentiate from a live Pink Floyd stage performance.
The sound of the instruments and the tone of the singers' voices are so strikingly close to the original that, even on just a rehearsal, I kept finding myself thinking that the audio-visual experience is the closest I'll ever get to reliving the 1994 Floyd concert I went to as a kid.

The humble beginnings, just like Pink Floyd's, are part of the band's charm.
The members, who came from all over the world, played a variety of songs at gigs, until they noticed a trend: they kept getting requests to play more and more Floyd.
"Then one day Dave [Lyons, who plays bass and vocals] jokingly said 'let's do a Pink Floyd tribute'," said Hawes.
The rest, as they say, is history.
The June 16th performance at the Tidemark Theatre will feature two-and-a-half hours of pure Pink Floyd sights and sounds.
All In All It's Just will take you, in chronological order, on a trip of Pink Floyd's musical career from 1967's Piper at the Gates of Dawn through classics like Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here to the 1994 masterpiece, Division Bell.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are available at the Tidemark box office for $35.

Welcome to the machine
Welcome to the machine: After the clocks stop ringing Barry Polichek takes you back in Time on a journey roughly midway between Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Division Bell. All In All It's Just will play a two-and-a-half hour set of Pink Ployd classics.
The eight-member All In All It's Just, a Pink Floyd tribute band, will be playing at the Tidemark Theatre on Friday, June 16. Tickets are $35.
